The Journey is the Thing

No matter where you go, there you are.

A Travelogue

While in Costa Rica, swaying in a hammock between a couple of palm trees, a friend texted, “Will you be keeping a blog of your trip?”. He was asking about upcoming van trips and I thought, that’s not a bad idea. So, a few weeks later I started what I hope will be an easy to keep up with (for you and me both) travelogue of adventures.

Building a Van

What started as a bare Sprinter cargo van has become a comfortable home on wheels. Design and build elements came from everywhere.

Van Travels

“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor and catch the trade winds in your sails.”

Moore Travels

“An adventurous life does not necessarily mean climbing mountains or jumping off cliffs. It means risking yourself by leaving a little piece of you behind in all those you meet along the way.“

Musings

Hmm… now there’s a thought.

about

Work hard, travel harder.

It’s been said, “work to live, don’t live to work, and travel as much as you can along the way”

Travel has been a big part of my life for a long time. I’ve managed a career that’s allowed me to literally travel around the world and in between have so many great adventures.

It seems I’m now drawn to adventures brought on mostly by family, friends, disc golf, and van building.

I’ve experienced the cultures of Costa Rica, Spain, France, U.K., Netherlands, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Guatemala, Bolivia, Serbia, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand and of course, Canada.

The next journey is now.
